Oakland prices grew 20% between 2014 and 2015. Twenty five percent of East Bay buyers are coming from San Francisco.
With so much interest in East Bay real estate comes multiple opportunities for new housing developments. Red Oak Realty has created an interactive map to keep track of them. Click the image below to see it in action:
The colors represent the status of the project: blue for proposed, green for approved, red for under construction. The size of the circle represents the number of residential units. Move your cursor over each item to see more details. And use the search tools to the right to find exactly what you’re looking for.
In each city you’ll see:
- Oakland has created 6 specific plans to revitalize key areas of the city, and major projects are already in development. You can see many of these key residential Oakland developments here.
- In Berkeley there are several major projects in the downtown area, and multiple apartment complexes around the UC Berkeley campus.
- And in Emeryville there is a significant redevelopment of the Public Market, plus warehouses that are being converted into housing.
Information is based on research from city websites, as well as the excellent EastBayRedeveloped blog and the San Francisco Business Times. We will do our best to update this map on an ongoing basis, but with details changing so frequently, information can’t be guaranteed. We recommend you independently verify details if they are of particular importance to you.
It is exciting to see so many changes in the East Bay. We just hope that these new residential developments will help, not harm, the fabric of our communities.
